Star Island - Gosport, NH
Saddened to see the news that Star Island will not be opening this year for the first time since World War II. This one of a kind island is always an awesome place to make memories during the summer and they do an exceptional job of keeping it running in tip top shape, but unfortunately the Isles of Shoals will be closed for the summer. "You may be wondering if Star is going to get through this crisis – will the island and the Star Island Corporation survive? The answer is yes, and this is because of the strength of our community. While the COVID-19 pandemic is dealing a major financial blow, we have held strong for over one hundred years. Through many significant challenges, including the 1918 influenza pandemic, two World Wars, and the island opening late in 2007, we have risen together as a community. We will rise together again." As we all know, the State of Emergency in NH just got pushed back another two weeks to May 15th. As of tomorrow we are one month into this thing. I've been keeping myself extremely busy (working) and I hope that you're all doing the same. We're almost there, just over two more weeks. Hoping that you all had a solid Easter Weekend! Here's to another rainy Monday in Portsmouth. Also just realized that we passed 7,500 likes on Instagram a few weeks ago and wanted to say thank you! *Story Time* Here's what sometimes happens. You hop in the car last minute because you remember that tonight is a "Super Pink Moon" (the brightest and largest for the whole year) and drive to Portsmouth as fast as you can. Only to watch clouds slowly cover that moon as soon as you arrive to get the shot that you wanted. Then, as you leave you look in your rear view mirror as you drive back over the Newington Bridge only to watch it come back out from behind the clouds. That was tonight, it happens! So here is last night's ALMOST full super pink moon. Best viewing will be tonight at 10:35 p.m. See Less — at Wagon Hill Farm Autism Awareness Month - Cape Neddick, ME
Yesterday was World Autism Awareness Day and the beginning of Autism Awareness Month. Nubble Lighthouse had planned to light the Nubble up blue again, but was forced to postpone due to current stay at home orders. So here is one from last year that I wanted to share as a reminder. Have a safe weekend everyone! #nubbleautismawareness #lightitupblue — at Nubble Lighthouse |
